As President of Interchanges, Nelson Bruton has played an integral role in the continued success of the company. For nearly 13 years, Nelson has focused on building relationships in Northeast Florida and continues to expand the client footprint locally and internationally. Nelson is very passionate about helping companies adapt to the paradigm shift that is taking place and in turn helping them dramatically grow revenues.
He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 2002 from the University of Georgia. Knowing the Internet was going to be a major factor for businesses to consider, he wrote his senior thesis on ecommerce and globalization. His interest in this new era in communication began during the days of the AOL, Compuserve, and Prodigy FREE TRIAL CDs.
His first goal after college was to move to the beach so in the spring of 2002, Nelson moved to Jacksonville. He began his career working for Alltel in the business division for wireless. He was able to cut his teeth with a sales career in the largest city in the country and within 9 months he was familiar with almost every business park in the city. Around that time, he was introduced to the founder of Interchanges, Chris Patterson, and discovered a company where he could leverage his education and his passions.
Nelson is proud to have been part of UGA’s inaugural “Bulldog 100” which highlights the 100 fastest growing companies owned or managed by UGA graduates.
Over the years, Nelson has given back to his community by volunteering for local organizations including Family Foundations, City Rescue Mission, Daniel Kids Foundation, and he is a active member of the Jacksonville Rotary Club and First Coast Manufacturers Association.
Nelson and his wife Shannon have been happily married since May of 2009 and have an active 4-year-old son, who is a fifth generation and shares his daddy’s name, John Page Nelson Bruton V.
